Lets Lift The Curfew

28th October 25

This year we participated in This Girl Can's 'Lets Lift The Curfew' 2025 campaign. To raise awareness and promote safer running for women during the dark nights.

26 ladies hit the streets of Whitby to run 3 miles together. Thank you everyone a great turnout!

Scarborough 10k & 5k

19th October 25

Twelve members represented Whitby Running Club at the Yorkshire Coast 10k and 5k.

Sally completed the 5k and finished 1st in her age category!

Well done everyone!

Yorkshire 10 Mile & Marathon

19th October 25

Congratulations to our club members representing Whitby at the Yorkshire Marathon & 10 Mile events today. Louise and Liam both completed the marathon and Sarah & Sharon completed the Yorkshire 10 Mile. 

Also Lindsay represented the club by completing the Amsterdam Marathon.

Well done to all of you.

Sunrise Walk 

17th October 25

We had a lovely chatty morning we had at our October social event. 

We hoped to see the sunrise but unfortunately it was too cloudy but we still had a great time seeing the morning in.

What a great turn out!

Great North Run

13th September 25

A few of our runners made the journey up to Newcastle to run 13.1 miles from Newcastle to South Shields. First home was Richard in a speedy 1 hour 45. Special mention to Joanna who completed her 18th Great North Run. 

 

They all travelled together and met up for post race celebrations.

Golf Summer Social

4th September 25

Another well attended social this evening. The weather caused us to reverse the itinerary, however a few drinks before golf seemed to pay off for some. 20 of us teed off at the world famous Arnold Palmer course and the eventual winner was Darren.

Thank you to Rachel for the very kind gesture to let us use the course.

 

Whitby Regatta Run

10th August 25

Today we hosted the annual Whitby Regatta Fun Run.

Over 200 runners entered and all finishers received a medal.

Thank you to all the club members for giving up your time and volunteering and special mention to Sarah for organising the event.

July Social

30th July 25

Lovely gathering for our July social run.

21 of us all ran the 4.5 mile trail from Grosmont to Beck Hole and back.

Well done everyone.

Cleveland Way Relay

14th June 25

What an awesome day we have had again on our 2nd NYMAC Cleveland way relay.

Well done everyone, I think it’s fair to say it was hard at times but we all did an amazing job.

Thank you to everyone that took part because without you it wouldn’t be possible.

Mulgrave 10k

1st June 25

Ten Brave runners conquered the Mulgrave Castle 10k today. A tough run through Mulgrave Woods with a steep climb to finish. 

Well done to all.

Charm Bracelet Half

13th April 25

Four club runners completed the first Charm Bracelet Half Marathon today.

A  trail race from Redcar to Staithes with a hill to finish. 

Joanna and Nick ran their first trail race congratulations to Nick for finishing 1st Male over 60 - we think we may hear about his trophy for some time....

Charm Bracelet Marathon

13th April 25

Eight club runners completed the Charm Bracelet Marathon today. 

A new trail race starting at Redcar and a nice home finish in Whitby.

Special mention to Keith for completing his first marathon at 67 - proof you are never to old to start running!

Level One

7th April 25

Following member feedback today we hosted our first level one session. 

We did some periods of running with ‘leader retreats’ as an option, meet and retreats in Crescent Gardens and some relay hill work in Stakesby Vale. We had periods of walking and talking and some positive weekend reflections to boost mental wellbeing.

Positive feedback was received by all - see you next week!

Hardmoors 55 Relay

22nd March 25

Today we had two teams complete the Hardmoors 55 Relay. A trail race from Guisborough to Helmsley. 

Well done to Emma, Victoria, Katie and their friend for finishing in 3rd place and bringing a trophy back - the first all female team to do so. 

Don't worry we don't expect all runners to do anything crazy like this!

Scarborough 10k

20th October 24

Fifteen club members braved the storm and ran Scarborough 10k today! Plus Darren our chief photographer and coat holder. 

Well done everyone hope you dry out soon!
